Perth East Playground & Sports Field Initiative

The Ball Diamond Relocation & Ground Development Committee is excited to report that a new play structure at PERC is complete and that construction of the Sports Fields and Walking Path has begun with completion scheduled for summer 2010. The Township has been granted funds from the Recreational Infrastructure Canada Program.

Playground – a wonderful play structure for kids ages 5 to 75! The playground features challenging and creative play opportunities, several accessible features, 4 slides and a swing set. The Playground is finished off with an engineered wood fibre surface for soft landings.

Softball Diamond – the proposed ball diamond will be 250’ deep. It will be fully fenced and include lights, dugouts and clay infield & warning track surface.

Soccer Pitch – the proposed soccer pitch will measure 120’ x 180’ and will include nets.
Walking Trail - a walking trail will run through the PERC property - great for both leisure and fitness needs.

Landscaping & Trees – trees will be planted throughout the property to complete the park setting.

Total Project Budget - $461,143

Fundraising Goal $160,000

The objective of this project is to provide a safe and healthy environment for the use and enjoyment of all residents and visitors to the area. The project will contribute to the sustainability of the community. Financial support from the community for this project is needed.
